Plastic Worm Tips

The plastic worm is widely heralded as the best Bass lure out there. I myself would have to agree. I cant name one other lure that produces the fish that a worm does.

Worms are best used in either clear or stained water since the fish must seethe lure to hit it. They say it is best used in the summer months, but I have had good luck year round with plastic worms.

There are many different ways to setup your worm. The Texas Rig, Floating Rig, Carolina, and the Swimming Rig.

There are many Styles of worms to choose from having a variety of colors and styles will pretty much prepare you for any situation. Here are some tips for using certain worms in different conditions.

Bulkier worms with twist tails or multiple tails usually are best in brackish water since they are the most visible.

Thin worms with straight tails seem to work best in dense vegetation.

Smaller worms tend to attract inactive fish.

In light and dark water conditions it seems to work best when you match the worm to the water color, light or translucent colors with clear water and dark brown or purple colors with darker water.

Worms are pretty easy to fish, remember it is a feeling lure meaning you want to feel the bottom and structure that your moving across, also bounce your rod tip ever slightly every now and then, movement attracts fish!
